Child/Grandchild Rider

This optional coverage allows an insured to provide coverage for their grandchildren, for a one-time premium payment of $10. Available on policies with an initial face amount of $2,500 or more.

Away-From-Home Rider

An additional $500 death benefit is available for a one-time $10 premium. To be eligible for the death benefit, the death must occur more than 250 miles from the insured's primary residence. No restrictions on the face amount exist for this rider.

Everyone qualifies regardless of health. Premium rates are the same as first-day coverage, but death benefits are limited during the first two years.

First-day Coverage

Designed for those in good health. Two simple health questions must be answered "no" to qualify. Full death benefits are available immediately.

Health Question 1

Is the Proposed Insured currently bedridden, confined to a hospital, or receiving hospice care; or has the Proposed Insured been informed by a member of the medical profession that he/she has a life expectancy of 12 months or less?

Health Question 2

In the last five years, has the Proposed Insured been diagnosed or treated by a member of the medical profession for any of the following: cancer; congestive heart failure; stroke; COPD; Alzheimer's/dementia; insulin-dependent diabetes; alcohol or drug dependency; AIDS or AIDS-related complex (ARC); or any disease or disorder of the heart, blood, brain, lung, kidney, liver, circulatory system, digestive system, or nervous system?

Face Value Calculation Method

Corridor Calculation

Uses age-based face factors to increase the base Face Value of the policy. This provides higher death benefits but may result in higher premiums.

Example: $10,000 funeral amount × 1.016 age factor = $10,160 face value

Cash Value Calculation

Uses a flat 1:1 ratio where the face value equals the funeral total amount. This provides predictable coverage amounts.

Example: $10,000 funeral amount = $10,000 face value

Single Pay Discount Options

When choosing a Single Pay plan with Wellabe, you can select how to apply the age-based discount:

Discount Premium

Your premium will be reduced based on your age discount factor. You maintain the requested face amount but pay less.

Example: Age 45 (0.5% discount) - $10,000 face value × 99.5% = $9,950 premium

Increase Face Value

Your face amount will be increased based on your age discount factor. You pay the full premium amount, but receive a higher death benefit.

Example: Age 45 (0.5% discount) - $10,000 premium ÷ 99.5% = $10,050 face value

Ages 0-60: 0.5% discount (99.5% factor)
Ages 61-70: 0.1% discount (99.9% factor)
Ages 71+: No discount (100% factor)

Down Payment Rider

This rider is available for insureds who wish to purchase a multi-pay plan and make a large down-payment (greater than $500). The down-payment is collected at the time of application along with the first month's premium for the remaining Base Plan.
